Veríssimo Santos

Veríssimo Santos has been a professor at ISEP (Polytechnic of Porto) since 2001. He holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, with a research focus on medical image processing algorithms. He is the course coordinator of Applied Artificial Intelligence, a curricular unit aimed at introducing students to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, while demonstrating their application to real-world problems in Electrical Engineering. He has supervised numerous undergraduate and master’s projects centered on the practical application of AI to engineering challenges. Passionate about the field, he closely follows the rapid emergence of new algorithms, frameworks, tools, and applications, striving to leverage them in the development of solutions that contribute to societal well-being.
